Rev Peter Arnett is our Lead Minister.
Peter joined the Ministry Staff in 2013 and expresses gifts of pastoral leadership, exhortation and service. Peter previously served as Lead Minister of the Wellers Hill – Tarragindi Congregation for 11 years, and Minister of the Chermside-Kedron Community Church for 5 years.
Mike McMillan is our Associate Pastor – Youth & Young Adults.
It’s an absolute privilege to be the Youth and Young Adult Pastor here at Glebe Road Uniting Church. I look forward to meeting everyone and walking beside some of the young people that are involved in and around Glebe Road. With all the distractions that our young people face it is a challenge to grab their attention and engage with them but with my background as a school chaplain and father/stepfather of seven I am blessed to be able to relate to them in the space that they feel safest. I feel very blessed that God has called me to this ministry and if you have any questions, suggestions or concerns about our Youth and Young Adult programs or a young person you know please don’t hesitate to give me a call or drop me an email.

The Glebe Road Uniting Church was officially opened on the 6th September, 1987. It was the culmination of the coming together of the Newtown Methodist Church, the Silkstone Methodist Church and St John’s Presbyterian Church, from when the Uniting Church in Australia was formed on the 22nd June, 1977. This year marks the 40th Anniversary of the Uniting Church in Australia.
Glebe Road UC continues to play a vital role in the local and broader Ipswich community. Partnerships with Silkstone State School, Habitat for Humanity, and the Queensland Community Alliance – Ipswich, are expressions of our service to the community, along with the Glebe Garden Club and the annual Ipswich Home Gardener’s Expo, the well renowned Silkstone Eisteddfod which was awarded the Ipswich City Council Community Event of the Year for 2016, and the special community Christmas event of Carols in the Park.
The people of Glebe Road UC express a diversity in: theological perspectives, cultural backgrounds, ages and stages of life; household compositions; physical and mental abilities, but a wonderful unity in the love of Christ and mutual respect for one another.
We share a dynamic faith in God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Our worship, witness and service are inspired by our hearts’ desire to share the Good News of God’s love for every person in such a practical and meaningful way that each one would experience the life-transforming truth that “God loves me!”
